The third prototype is again tested in Crewe, building on the first two now integrating the Herbet protocol profile, the GPS tracker but also a fully searchable database. As before two people are sent out as Mispers (Chris and John), with Herbert Protocol profiles and with GPS trackers. The first has the tracker on, the second has for an initial 10 minutes then switches it off, to replicate it malfunctioning or the smartphone on which it is loaded has run out of battery. The objective here is to test how historical GPS data and Herbert Protocol information can work together as the second Misper’s route has been replicated for 2 weeks previously.

The other objective is to ensure the searchable database can be used as part of a real Misper scenario where Police can access SAFO records via a name, address date of birth or member number search. Both objectives are successfully achieved, demonstrating that the SAFO concept can be applied practically in realistic Misper scenarios.
