John developed the initial concept of Safe and Found with Chris Cheshire in 2015. Working the idea up from a tracking tool to a system encompassing the Herbert Protocol, they developed the project jointly with several police forces and taking it through to its public launch.
Previously a senior housing professional of 30 years’ experience with local authorities, social landlords and as a consultant, John spent the latter years of his late father’s life helping as his carer who was living with dementia. He has recently celebrated his 10 year anniversary as a volunteer for the Alzheimer’s Society, during which time he has also been the Co-ordinator for Dementia Action Alliances across North Yorkshire.
